Welcoming new pilots to VirtualFlight.Online
Following a certain somebody recording a YouTube video about the airline at VirtualFlight.Online, we have a sudden influx on new pilots - so I thought it might be a good opportunity to welcome them, and provide a heads-up on the various facets of our community!
The Newsletter
https://virtualflightonline.substack.com
You’re reading it now. Free to subscribe to via email, or you can dip in and have a read of past stories any time you like. Any big changes get posted in the newsletter, and sent out to subscribers via email.
The Discord Server
https://bit.ly/virtualflightonlinediscord
The heart and soul of the VirtualFlight.Online community since it’s inception. Regular group flights are planned and managed in the Discord Server - allowing members to fly together, talk, share screens with each other and more.
Alongside group flight events, the Discord Server hosts forums and chat channels too.
We have a fantastic group of moderators that volunteer their time to help keep the Discord server running smoothly.
The Forums
https://forums.virtualflight.online
The paint is still drying on the forums. We had forums in the distant past, and have recently re-introduced them following feedback from members. We’re taking a watching brief to see if they become popular or not. Feel free to take a look, register your username, and start some discussion topics.
The Facebook Group
https://facebook.com/groups/virtualflightonline
Some people prefer Facebook over Discord, or the Forums, so we cater for them too - providing a group to share anything simulation related with the community.
The Airline
https://airline.virtualflight.online
Of course we run the virtual airline - with a rank structure, a fleet of aircraft, scheduled flights, tours, a wonderful ACARS client, and more. The airline has recently been re-built to bring compatibility with Flight Simulator 2024.
Transmitter
https://transmitter.virtualflight.online
A new (and old) offering. We originally developed Transmitter following the arrival of Flight Simulator 2020, and then open sourced it for the world a couple of year later.
We have recently revived the project, evolved it, and added a rich live radar display. It’s still open source :)
Patreon

If you would like to support our efforts, we have a simple Patreon page where you can chip in a small amount each month to keep the lights on. This is entirely optional, and at your discretion.
