Spring Cleaning the Discord Server
We’ve been spring-cleaning Discord overnight - removing channels that are seldom used, and (hopefully) simplifying the channel selections - making it obvious which channels to post particular subjects into.
The changes
The MSFS2020-forum channel has moved - to the community category
The MSFS2024-forum channel has moved - to the community category
The Screenshots and Videos channels have been retired - the media channel serves the same purpose
The scenery and aircraft channels have been retired - if you want to post about a particular aircraft or scenery add-on, you can tag a post with “scenery”, “aircraft”, or whatever else in the MSFS2020/24 forums.
Many of the unused resources channels have been retired - again, you can tag posts in the MSFS202/24 forums as needed.
There are many benefits to the changes:
It’s better to have a few busy channels, than lots of unused channels
It’s more obvious where to post things with less channels
Moderators can correct tags on posts (Discord has never allowed posts to be moved between channels - madness, I know).
The Events, Invitations, and the Airline channels are not changing.
One more thing…
A huge vote of thanks to the administrators, moderators, and event planners that make the community what it has become. Without them we wouldn’t have one of the best flight simulator communities on the internet:
