MyAir ATC at EGNT Newcastle International

On Thursday 8th August, from 7pm onwards, the tower at EGNT Newcastle International will be open for simulator pilots to interact with!

Joe at MyAir will be hosting an ATC session on Thursday, 8th August at EGNT Newcastle International Airport, encouraging the community to visit and take part.

• ATC will be available from 19:00 until 21:00 BST (18:00 UTC to 20:00 UTC)

You might want to arrange a flight to depart from, or arrive at Newcastle during the event time-window, or pass through the controlled area, taking instruction as required.

Here’s what you’ll need to know:

• Radio communication will be simulated using Discord voice channels

• You’ll therefore need to join the MyAir discord server to take part - visit the following URL to make that happen: https://bit.ly/myairvirtual

• It will help enormously if you’re running Transmitter - which simulates radar for air traffic services (lets them see where you are) - you can find out how to install and configure Transmitter in the #FAQ channel in the MyAir Discord server.

• It will also help enormously if you change your nickname in Discord to match your callsign for the event - again, you can find out how to do that in the #FAQ channel in the MyAir Discord server.

• While outside of the controlled area, other voice channels will be open for members to chat, introduce themselves, and hopefully make new friends!
