Keeping Our Skies Friendly
A Note on Community Conduct
Fellow virtual aviators,
One of the things that makes VirtualFlight.Online so special is the sense of camaraderie we share. Whether we’re navigating a complex group flight or just chatting in Discord, this community has always been about a shared passion for flight simulation and the joy of exploring the virtual skies together.
To keep that environment welcoming for everyone, we want to take a moment to talk about our community standards.
Back to Basics
As we grow, it’s important to remember that our Discord and voice channels are shared spaces. To ensure everyone feels comfortable, we’ve always operated under a clear Code of Conduct.
As a reminder, our community is a “no-fly zone” for:
Prejudice and hate speech.
Political or religious debates.
Discussions regarding piracy.
Inappropriate or adult-oriented subjects.
A Change in Approach
Lately, a small minority has unfortunately made things difficult for the rest of the group by ignoring these rules.
Our Moderators, Event Planners, and Administrators are all volunteers. They donate their time because they love flight simulation and they love this community. However, it isn’t—and shouldn’t be—their job to “babysit” adults. We want our team focused on planning great events and helping pilots, not policing avoidable friction.
Because of this, we are moving away from a system of multiple warnings and timeouts. Effective immediately, the leadership team will move directly to permanent bans for those who violate our Code of Conduct.
Why we’re doing this
It is a genuine shame that we have to take this firmer stance, but it is necessary to protect the culture of VirtualFlight.Online. We want to ensure that when you log on for a group flight, you can enjoy a relaxed, professional, and friendly atmosphere without being subjected to inappropriate behavior.
We know that 99% of you are here for the right reasons, and we thank you for making this community such a fantastic place to fly. Let’s keep the focus on the flight deck and the horizon ahead.
Blue skies and happy landings,
The VirtualFlight.Online Team
