How to invite others to fly with you
It’s been great to see so many people taking advantage of the voice chat channels in the VirtualFlight.Online Discord server recently - posting invitations, and joining in with each other’s sessions.
While Joe and Roy have been posting ATC session invitations just recently, you might not realise that anyone can post an invitation - and you can use the @everyone tag in the invitations channel too (which sends a notification to everyone).
We now have well over a thousand members in the discord community. The next time you’re booting up the simulator, why not tell everybody where you’re going, what you’re flying, and invite them along?
How to post an invitation
All you have to do is post a text message in the #invitations channel of the discord server, and prefix it with “@everyone”. It’s probably best to give everyone a little while to arrive if you’re setting out on a journey - half an hour, perhaps.
The following text serves as an example of the message you might post - feel free to copy and modify as required:
@everyone Hi all - I'm going to be flying online for the next couple of hours - feel free to login and join me in the #chat voice channel.
I'll be in the Cessna 172 doing circuits.

Use voice chat and screen sharing
Discord provides wonderful voice chat and screen sharing facilities. If you’ve not used Discord yet, we have some great guidance in the codex:
Use Transmitter
If you have “Transmitter”, that will also help - allowing you to find each other within LittleNavMap quickly and easily. You can find out all about Transmitter in the codex:
