"Full Circle with Michael Palin" is a 1997 BBC documentary in which Michael Palin traveled to countries around the rim of the Pacific Ocean. Beginning in Alaska and traveling anti-clockwise, the epic 32,000 mile journey visited Russia, Japan, South Korea, China, Vietnam, the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand, Chile, Bolivia, Peru, Colombia, Mexico, the United States, and Canada.
This 92-leg tour is loosely based upon that series. There's something for almost every aircraft, with legs ranging from 16 to 4,400 nautical miles. While Palin traveled using land and sea transport wherever possible, this trip is entirely by air. Several adjustments to the route were necessary to accommodate our mode of transportation, so the tour route does not precisely match the one taken in the program. Should this trouble you, just remember the words of faithful servant Patsy in Monty Python and the Holy Grail: "It's only a model".
Legs: 92
Total distance: 31,800 nm
Shortest leg: 16 nm
