This week we look primarily at new airline liveries, the new mapping solution, and the huge-reorganisation of channels at Discord.
It’s been another busy week for VirtualFlight.Online - with lots of new liveries arriving, changes to the mapping solution throughout the website, and a huge re-organisation of Discord.

Maps Upgrade
Those flying early in the week will have seen me pull the plug on Google Maps, and install the replacement from VABase, using a fantastic open-source mapping library called Leaflet, and the OpenStreetMap graphics within the maps.
There is more to come in terms of mapping - with world-route-maps just around the corner.
Changes at Discord
In order to combat the growing sprawl of channels in the Discord server, we have removed a lot of channels that were not being used, and rationalised the remaining channels - pulling those that remain under headings of “Flight”, “Chat”, and “Resources”.
This Week’s Group Flight - Hong Kong
On Sunday 23rd October 2022 at 1900 UTC VirtualFlight.Online will host a relaxed group flight exploring Hong Kong and its surroundings. There is only a limited number of airports around Hong Kong, so it's a good occasion to practice water landing !
